Use XLDent to effectively manage your overdue recall

Oct 05, 2018

What is Systematic Delinquent Recall? First, a good recall system starts by focusing on one month in the future with reminders going to patients who are scheduled, and notifying those who are due and not scheduled. But, are you looking 3, 6, and 9 months into the past? I bet you'll find more patients than you expect who were due, but never scheduled an appointment and have become delinquent. We can go even further, and look 12 and 18 months in the past. The objective with this group is to try and keep them from getting any more delinquent. How do you know which patients to contact and at what times? The best way to manage this is to create a spreadsheet or schedule that shows the current month and future month you are working on, and the months for your delinquent follow-up. Here is an example:

Using the table, let's walk through an example. Starting with the current month (10=October), we can focus on our Delinquent months with date ranges in the past. Three Months (07=July), 6 Months (04=April), 9 Months (01=January) and so on. This grid maintains a continuous cycle so once you have completed your 12=December processing, start again at the top of the grid and follow the appropriate sequence.

Your SOP should identify this grid as well as who is responsible for recall processing every month. Your XLDent Recall Due and Delinquent Report, generated with these past date ranges, shows your focus group. Additionally, you can refer to the XLDent Help to guide you through generating these reports.

Everything you need to effectively manage and improve your recall is right in XLDent, ready for you to put it to work!
